Born in Varanasi on June 22nd 1963, Pt. Ranendranath Majumdar Popularly known as Rony Majumdar is solidly rooted in the Maihar Gharana. His tutelage began under father Dr. Bhanu Majumdar But Eventually he also started learning under Late Pt. Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and finally under Pt. Vijay Raghav Rao.
His artistic Climb is marked with incredibly brilliant performances in world’s prestigious venues such as the Kremlin, Moscow, the Palais de Beaux Arts Brussels and so on. His compositions around the New Age genre of music have also earned him a firm grounding in the field of contemporary music.
